We are excited to offer you a new amazing treatment Photo-Abrasion.
- Did you worship the sun when you were young but now wish you had kept in the shade?
- Do you have fine lines and uneven skin texture?
- Do you suffer with enlarged or clogged pores or even acne?
- Does your face have pigmentation or brown marks?
- Are there little blood vessels on your nose and cheeks?
- Does redness and flushes of the face concern you?
- Is it just the oiliness or the dryness of your skin that annoys you?
If you would like to treat these problems but cannot afford to take time off work then Photo-abrasion may be for you. Photo-abrasion is a combination of Microdermabrasion and Intense Pulsed Light. It is used to reverse some of your concerns and correct some of the damage to the deeper layers of the skin called the dermis. This is the collagen and elastin layer and it is here that many of the features of aging, sun damaged skin originate.
Even after the first treatment your skin generally looks healthier and more youthful with beautifully improved skin texture, colour and radiance. This is a ‘walk-in walk-out’ type of treatment and offers clients a method of treating their damaged skin without the down time associated with deep skin peels or resurfacing.
Please protect your skin from the sun and it is essential to your safety to have no recent suntan or artificial tan.
For more information of Photo-abrasion come in and discuss your skin with one of our highly experienced medical practitioners.
Each treatment takes up to one hour to perform. There is a very mild discomfort during the treatment and the skin may look a little flushed at the end of the treatment. The skin sometimes can feel slightly sunburnt for a few hours and then the sensation will disappear. Any brown pigment spots may darken and blood vessels may appear bruised. These brown pigment spots and blood vessels will then gradually lighten over the next week.
Before treatment we will perform a Digital Skin Analysis so that we are able to track your results. This will also allow us to prescribe the appropriate skin care regime to ensure that your skin is in the best condition possible pre-treatment. This regime will also need to be followed post treatment as directed by your Specialised Face Designer to maintain ongoing results.
Photoabrasion treatment for the face takes approximately one hour and a half.
Depending on the degree of sun damage, redness and skin damage, you may require three to six treatments. Each treatment will take an hour to perform, commencing with a gentle microdermabrasion to soften and smooth the skin. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment is then performed to target pigment, redness, pores and skin damage, the combination being more effective to achieve amazing results.
This treatment can be used to treat the face, neck, décolletage, arms, backs of hands, and virtually anywhere you are concerned with the above skin conditions.
You can expect your skin to be slightly red and a little sensitive for a few days after treatment. The redness can be easily concealed with make-up, for sensitivity we recommend using gentle products and sunscreen daily to help protect your skin. Most people return to work the day after treatment.
This is a gentle ‘walk in walk out’ treatment and you will be pleasantly surprised at the immediate improvement to your skin. The initial Microdermabration treatment is enjoyable, comfortable and excellent for those who have thickened skin or mild break outs or acne. Intense Pulsed Light, is safe, and feels like a rubber band flicking at your skin. This sensation is completely forgotten at the end of the treatment and is replaced by a warm healthy glow.
You will see results after only one treatment, the skin will be softer, smoother to touch, and the tone can become more even. We usually recommend a course of 3 to 6 treatments before you can see the final result, although with each treatment the skin will continue to become brighter, smoother and more even.
