FACIAL and BODY REJUVENATION WITH YOUR OWN CELLS using
PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP) Regenerative Medicine is PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP) and /or Autologous Cellular Rejuvenation (ACR):
THE NEW ROLE IN BIOLOGICAL DERMAL REJUVENATION.
Face Today Medi-Clinic is proud to be one of the first two clinics in Australia in the Cosmetic arena chosen to launch PRP. Nicole Bell Founder of Face Today Medi-Clinic will be demonstrating at the first workshop in Sydney on Feb 7, 2009. The formal presentation and launch will be at the Cosmetic Surgery Conference in Sydney in May where Nicole will demonstrate at workshops for PRP. Dr Bruce Williamson will be delivering the science of PRP in the Plenary sessions. Face Today in Cairns and Sydney has been using this science for over six months with incredible results.
So why should we have Regeneration Skin known as PRP?
Aging of the skin, dermal components and cells, means that the skin texture and appearance deteriorate. Aging affects the hands, soft tissue of the face and body. This is characterized by sagging, thinning of the skin, puffiness, age spots (lentigines) and wrinkling (forehead, cheeks, neck and décolleté). Tissue on the arms becomes thin and empty. General texture of the skin changes and dryness is a problem. Sun exposure worsens the process by solar-aging and UV irradiation. This means that vertical and horizontal facial wrinkles and body texture deteriorate with time.
Some people, of both genders, choose to age gracefully and are not concerned about eventually POSSIBLY looking like their grand-parents in years to come. However, there are choices, in this new era of anti-aging medicine. The trend now is to turn back the clock and undergo some form of rejuvenation to reduce facial wrinkles, lines and blemishes and rejuvenate the body. For decades, rejuvenation of the face by surgical face-lift has been the only option.
Today, more non-invasive treatments are very popular to improve the skin complexion and ability to maintain collagen growth in the aging face and body. This is because people want to look better with as little as possible down time, and with less invasive treatments. Although a quick-fix is not possible for severe wrinkles, there are newer treatment options and combination therapy available to slow down the aging aspects that affect the face, neck, décolleté, back of the hands and indeed the body.
In times past the backbone of facial therapies were facials, micro-dermabrasions and Cosmeceuticals including moisturizers, sunscreens, serums and foundation cosmetics, these were mostly performed at beauty therapy salons.
Then came the next wave of science seeing Botulinum and dermal fillers becoming the next answer to maintaining your youth. These proved extremely successful, and Medical Anti-Ageing Practices were born. The TGA allowed Medical practices with Medically trained staff the right to use Superceuticals and active ingredients including increased strengths of vitamin A and C, Copper and a variety of ingredients only available to Medical staff.
What could be better? Next enters more discoveries into the anti-ageing industry being the ability to have combination therapy combining Medical skin therapies, dermal fillers and botulism with a new range of machinery to rejuvenate, tighten and resurface the face. This includes non-ablative photothermolysis (Portrait), Medical microdermabrasion and IPL's . With this popular combination therapy results were increased and patients were amazed. However whatever option is used, the aging process cannot be prevented and the addition of internal anti-ageing Anti-oxidants is another science to be investigated along with Growth Hormones where applicable. Of course the key is regular maintenance of all of the above.
What will the scientists give us next? In 2009 entering the anti-ageing arena in Australia is PRP (Platelete Rich Plasma) to add to our combination therapy.
PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP): YOUR OWN ENRICHED PLASMA IN REGENERATIVE MEDICINE AS an incredible ANTI-AGING TREATMENT.
A new approach appealing to clients seeking an increased and natural method to rejuvenation. This is regeneration with your own cells and more specifically, autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This is also referred to as autologous cellular regeneration (ACR) an aesthetic practice, which is a safe and tolerable procedure. Used in combination therapy it can potentiate the results of your other anti ageing modalities.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) has been utilized in aesthetic medicine (UK, Japan, and Asia, Europe) to rejuvenate and slow down the aging process and face (2006).
Science supports the use of PRP for the augmentation and regeneration of hard and soft tissues. PRP is the source of concentrated platelet content present in blood. Apart from assisting blood clotting, platelets also release growth factors that assist the human body to repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue. Today, platelet rich plasma can easily be separated from blood, through a process of centrifugation. Using your enriched plasma permits the body to heal faster and more efficiently creating a network of collagen. Because your plasma (autologous) is used, there is no danger of disease transmission, anaphylaxis or neoplasia.
Case studies reported in Europe, England, Asia, Japan and South Africa have demonstrated consistent rejuvenation of facial aging, including wrinkling in persons with modest grades of photo- or chronological aging. Patient selection is important and skin diseases have to be excluded. Improvement of skin texture and tone can be expected, these features are noticeable within 3 weeks, and the process can be enhanced by addition of appropriate Cosmaceuticals.
